Pro Joint  is a horse supplement formulated to support healthy joint, tendon and ligament function in the horse. Pro Joint contains 14 000mg of Glucosamine HCL ,   4 000mg of Chondroitin Sulphate and 20 000mg of Methylsulfonylmethane per serve.

These amino acids have been shown to assist with  maintaning healthy  joints, tendons and cartilage.

Glucosamine sulfate and chondroitin sulfate are naturally occurring substances found in the connective tissues of the body, including the cartilage that covers the ends of bones in the joints

Chondroitin sulfate is one of the building blocks of cartilage.

Glucosamine is a derivative of cellular glucose metabolism. It is also a component of glycosaminoglycans and proteoglycans of the cartilage matrix covering the ends of bones and hyaluronic acid which is a part of synovial fluid within the joint.

MSM (methylsulfonylmethane)

MSM is 34% bioavailable sulfur, thereby making it in an exceptionally rich source of easily metabolized sulfur. Sulfur is the 8th most abundant substance in a horse’s body

Metabolically, sulphur is contained in hormones, enzymes and antibodies. It helps to facilitate the transport of oxygen across cell membranes, is involved in cellular regeneration, assists with a body’s bacteriostasis via increased production of immunoglobulins which boost immunity, and is an important component of insulin and, therefore, the energy generating Krebs cycle (Evans et al 1993). Sulphur is also thought to keep muscles healthy (and properly rested when not contracting) by helping to transport oxygen and remove toxins.

The highest concentration of elemental sulfur in horses is found in the skin, nails, hair and joints.
